Amarinder Singh is a fatherly figure; I respect him: Navjot Singh Sidhu

Jaipur | Punjab Minister and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday clarified his stand over the recent controversy where he said the Rahul Gandhi is the real captain for him.

Speaking to reporters in Rajasthan he said,” You don’t want to wash dirty linen in public. Captain Amarinder Singh is a fatherly figure, I love him, I respect him, I will sort it out myself.” According to sources, Sidhu’s statement has come after he was told by the Congress leadership to refrain himself from speaking about Amarinder Singh.

Earlier during the election campaign for Congress in Hyderabad, the cricketer turned Politician said that Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had forbidden him to go to Pakistan. “However, on the request of about 20 Congress leaders and central leadership, I went to Pakistan,” he said. “The CM of Punjab is like my father. I had already told him that I will go to Pakistan. My captain is Rahul Gandhi and the captain of the CM is also Rahul Gandhi,” he added.
