“Are You Filing Nomination From Another Seat?”: PM Modi Takes A Dig At Mamata Banerjee

However, TMC sources categorically denied the claims. They said that Mamata Banerjee is only contesting from Nandigram. 

 

Nandigram| Voting was held for the second phase of the election on Thursday in 69 seats of West Bengal and Assam. More than 80% of the people cast their votes amidst some incidents of violence in Bengal and booth capturing allegations. According to the Election Commission, till 6 pm, Bengal has recorded 80.43% and Assam has 74.64% polling. In the first phase of voting in Bengal, 79.79% and 72.14% of the voting was recorded in Assam.

Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee made big allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. She said “How can PM Modi campaign in West Bengal on election day? Mamata alleged that Amit Shah is directly ordering the security personnel to be sent by the Centre. This is a violation of the electoral code of conduct.”

After this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached a poll booth in Nandigram on a wheelchair and spoke to the people. Mamata said that “goons” from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are being brought in Nandigram. “Goons from outside are influencing voting. Complaints were made several times to the Election Commission (EC), but no action was taken,” She complained. Mamata also spoke to the governor to intervene in the matter and complained about the central forces. She said that if the Election Commission does not take any action, her party will move to court.

Mamata Banerjee May Contest From Another Seat: PM

In response to this, PM Narendra Modi said in a rally in Bengal that Mamata Banerjee has given up. “The people of Bengal have decided to remove Didi’s government. People here are not in the mood to wait any longer,” PM Modi said. He further said that after two phases of elections, Mamata Banerjee has realized that she is going to lose and thus there are rumours that she will contest from another seat in the coming phases. “Are you filing nomination from another seat?” PM Modi asked sarcastically.

However, TMC sources categorically denied the claims. They said that Mamata Banerjee is only contesting from Nandigram.

Attack on Shubhendu Adhikari’s convoy

There has been a huge uproar at a polling booth in Nandigram, the hot seat of Bengal. Here TMC activists allege that they are not being allowed to vote. At the same time, the convoy of BJP candidate Shubhendu Adhikari was attacked near Kamalpur of Nandigram. Media vehicles have been damaged in the attack. Shubhendu alleged that this is the work of Pakistanis. Jai Bangla is the slogan of Bangladesh. At that booth are voters from a particular community, who are doing so.
