Arif Mohammed Khan governor of Kerala, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan made governor of Telangana

Former union minister Arif Mohammed Khan has been appointed the Governor of Kerala. He had defended Modi government over triple talaq bill.

 

New Delhi| A list of new governors of the five states is out today. President Ramnath Kovind announced these appointments. There was a lot of curiosity around who the government will pick as governors for the five state of Kerala, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh. Out of these 5 states, three are not ruled by the BJP.

The chief of the BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit, Dr Tamilisai has been made the governor of Telangana while former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya has been put in charge of Himachal Pradesh, replacing Kalraj Mishra. Talking to media, Dattatreya said, “I am thankful to PM Narendra Modi as well as Home Minister Amit Shah. They have given this responsibility to me as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh& I will work as per the Constitution.”

Former union minister Arif Mohammed Khan has been appointed the Governor of Kerala. He had defended Modi government over triple talaq bill. Talking about his appointment, he said that it’s an opportunity to serve and he is fortunate to be born in a country like India which is so vast & rich in diversity. “It’s a great opportunity for me to know this part of India, which forms the boundary of India&is called god’s own country,” Arif Khan said.

On the other hand, Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra. Kalraj Mishra, who was the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been asked to take charge of Rajasthan, replacing Kalyan Singh.
