Arun Jaitley even said that Rahul Gandhi does not understand national security as “He was playing in the lap of a certain ‘Q’ (Quattrocchi) when he was young.”
New Delhi| Amidst the ruckus in Lok Sabha, a heated verbal duel played out between Rahul Gandhi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. While Rahul Gandhi handled the charge from the opposition to corner the centre over Rafale deal with the leaked tape and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley hit back invoking Bofors scam.
Replying to Rahul Gandhi Arun Jaitley said that the clip is another lie. He said, last time Congress president lied about the conversation between him and the French president Emmanuel Macron. “Today, he tried to produce a tap but he is too scared to authenticate it,” Jaitley said.
Jaitley further went on to invoke previous defence scams. He said that it is audacious of Congress to level allegations on the present government considering the previous Congress governments have been under the radar in AugustaWestland, National Herald and Bofors scam. Taking a dig at Congress, Jaitley even said that Rahul Gandhi does not understand national security as “he was playing in the lap of a certain ‘Q’ (Quattrocchi) when he was young.”
Jaitley also hit out at UPA over the delay in purchasing defence equipment. He said, “There is a speciality about UPA in decision making that is if the aircraft being selected is not the one whose commerce you have dealt with then delay the transaction, make it impossible.”
