BJP appoints Anurag Thakur as Chief whip in Lok Sabha

New Delhi | The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Tuesday appointed Anurag Thakur as the Chief Whip in Lok Sabha.

Thakur who replace Rakesh Singh, the newly appointed Madhya Pradesh BJP President as the party’s chief whip in the lower house of Parliament. Earlier Anurag Thakur held the position of the President of Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), the governing body of Cricket in India.

The former President of BJP Youth wing, Anurag Thakur is an MP from the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency in Himachal Pradesh. Thakur is also the son of former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal.
