RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly, alleged that the BJP is avenging its electoral loss by instigating riots in Delhi.
Patna| Former Deputy CM of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, on Wednesday gave his two-cents on the violence erupting in the national capital. “BJP has avenged their (electoral) loss in the national capital,” said the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and sitting leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly.
Riots in northeast Delhi have resulted in the loss of 22 lives, leaving more than 200 people injured.
Son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi aimed his guns on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in power at the Centre by claiming, “After such a big (electoral) loss, the BJP has sent a message to the nation that if you defeat us, we will burn you.”
He was referring to the recent Delhi Assembly elections where Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staked its claim to form a government in the national capital with 62 out of 70 seats with the remainder going to the BJP.
Tejashwi Yadav also alleged that the BJP is provoking riots to distract attention from all other issues. His statement comes at a time when the state of Bihar is gearing up for Vidhan Sabha elections 2020 with incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the fray. T
ejashwi served as deputy CM in the Janata Dal (United) government for a year-and-a-half before his party broke its alliance with CM Nitish Kumar. At present, the government in Bihar is a coalition between the JD(U) and the BJP.

Interestingly, Bihar became the first NDA-ruled state on Tuesday to pass a resolution against the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) which is at the centre of the crisis in the national capital along with the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National People’s Register (NPR).
Earlier this week, Tejashwi Yadav launched the Berozgari Hatao Padyatra’ in a bid to expand his party’s base ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
