New Delhi | The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Saturday announced its 1st list of candidates for the assembly elections of Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
In an issued statement, the Bhartiya Janata Party announced the candidature on 77 seats in Chhattisgarh, 38 seats in Telangana and 13 seats in Mizoram. Out of the 90-seat assembly in Chhattisgarh, BJP is going to contest on 77 seats out of which 14 are given to women candidates. The party has also given an opportunity to new faces on 14 seats replacing the current MLAs. Announcing the list of the candidates, Union Health Minister and BJP leader JP Nadda said,” The names of 77 candidates have been announced in the first list for the 90-member assembly Chhattisgarh. Out of the 77 candidates, 14 are women while new names have replaced the 14 existing MLAs.”
Various senior BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present at the BJP Central Election Committee meeting called by BJP President Amit Shah. One of the interesting names in the list includes OP Chowdhary who recently resigned from his IAS post and joined BJP. According to sources, Chowdhary was assured by the BJP president Amit Shah and CM Raman Singh that he will be contesting from the Kharsia constituency.

As per the Election Commision of India’s notification, the assembly election will be held on November 12 and 20 in two phases in Chhattisgarh. The counting of votes will be held from December 11 along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram.
