BJP knew about the Chilli Powder attack on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal: Manish Sisodia

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with chilli powder at the Delhi Secretariat on Tuesday. The attacker Anil Kumar is allegedly a BJP supporter.

 

New Delhi| The chilli powder attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has led to a fresh fight erupting between the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP. On Wednesday, Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of having the knowledge about the attack before it happened. He also said that the BJP wants to eliminate Kejriwal and stop him from working for people.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with chilli powder at the Delhi Secretariat on Tuesday. the attacker Anil Kumar threw chilli powder at Delhi CM outside the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Delhi Secretariat. The attacker came to Arvind Kejriwal when he was entering his chamber along with three of his colleagues. He handed over a paper to Kejriwal. He then bent over to show that he is picking something that he dropped. However, when Kejriwal turned and proceeded towards his chambers, the attacker got up and threw chilli powder at him. The colleagues of Kejriwal quickly held the attacker after initial manhandling. He was later arrested.

Sisodia said that after the attack incident union Home Minister Rajnath Singh called Kejriwal and asked him to file a complaint. Fumed over the Home Minister’s response to the attack, Sisodia asked, “Is this the way an attack on a chief minister should be probed?”

The attacker’s facebook wall shows that he is a BJP supporter. However, the BJP has shrugged off the allegations saying that the entire incident was orchestrated by Kejriwal himself. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari demanding a high-level probe into it.

Sisodia also slammed the Delhi Police saying that it is working at the behest of BJP and protecting the accused. “Even 24 hours after the attack, Delhi’s Lt Governor has not reacted on it. This means that he also knew about it,” Sisodia alleged.
