BJP leader sends legal notice to Arvind Kejriwal over assassination plot remark

New Delhi | Delhi BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta has sent a legal notice to state Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia for allegedly framing him in relation to the ‘assassination plot’ against Kejriwal.

Speaking to News Agency ANI, Gupta said, “This is sad that Kejriwal is playing below-the-belt politics. He has been cheating Delhi people and blackmailing them emotionally for long. It is their defeat that they are saying that BJP is planning to attack Kejriwal and Sisodia and they might get killed like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.”

Demanding an apology from Arvind Kejriwal within a week Gupta said, “Delhi Police are spending crores of rupees on Kejriwal’s security. But he himself is unwilling to take it. I have sent him a notice seeking his apology within a week.”

In the issued notice, Gupta has stated that if the Delhi Chief Minister doesn’t apologise in a week he would take the matter to the court. The notice states,”That you are hereby called upon to immediately withdraw the tweet and apologise for the statement against my client within seven days. If failed, my client shall be forced to initiate civil as well as a criminal proceeding in the competent court of law at your risk, cost, and consequence.”

Alleging that the BJP was after his life, Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal Saturday claimed that he will be assassinated like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by his personal security officer.
