BJP plans 25 rallies of PM Modi in poll-bound states

The last-minute campaigning by PM Modi has also seen a positive swing in votes in favor of the BJP. Karnataka and Gujarat elections are the biggest examples of this.

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing more than two dozen rallies ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The BJP insiders said that PM Modi will be holding about 25 rallies in the poll-bound states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram. While Chhattisgarh has completed the first phase of polling, the rest of the states will be going for a poll in the next few weeks.

The sources said that out of the five poll-bound states, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh where the stakes are high for the incumbent BJP will have the most number of the rallies addressed by the Prime Minister. However, the exact number of meetings held by PM Modi hasn’t been decided yet. “The number of meetings to be addressed by Prime Minister will be finalized in the coming days,” a source said.

Past assembly elections have proved that campaigning by Prime Minister Modi had a significant impact on BJP’s chances to win the elections. PM Modi who is BJP‘s no.1 star campaigner remains the biggest crowd-puller for the party. His last-minute campaigning has also seen a positive swing in votes in favor of the BJP. Karnataka and Gujarat elections are the biggest examples of this.

The single-phase polls are due in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram on November 28, and in Rajasthan and Telangana on December 7.
