BJP releases First list of candidates for Maharashtra Assembly Elections

Several leaders who switched sides from NCP and Congress to join BJP ahead of the elections have featured in the list.

 

Mumbai| Ending the months of wait, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday published the first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections. The first list features candidates for 125 candidates. Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis will be contesting from Nagpur South West seat while state President Chandrakant Dada Patil is contesting from Kothrud.

Several leaders who switched sides from NCP and Congress to join BJP ahead of the elections have featured in the list. Kalidas Kolambkar, former Congress MLA who resigned from the post and joined BJP have been given ticket from Wadala while Harshvardhan Patil has been given ticket from Indapur. Sandeep Naik has been given a ticket from Airoli.

Cabinet Minister Girish Mahajan has been given ticket from his traditional seat of Jamner while Sudhir Mungantiwar will be contesting from Ballarpur. State Minister for Woman and Child Development Pankaja Munde has been given ticket from Parli. However, ministers like Vinod Tawde and Eknath Khadse have not been given ticket yet.
