Mumbai: NCP’s Shrinivas Patil’s name has been finalized against the BJP leader and former MP Udayan Raje Bhosale for the Satara Lok Sabha by-poll elections. Therefore, the People of Satara will see an interesting fight against Maharaj.

Former NCP leader Udayan Raje Bhosale entered the BJP a few days ago, calling the NCP said goodbye to the party. Therefore Udayan Raje was arguing against who would be the candidate of NCP. The names of former ministers and members Shrinivas Patil, Prithviraj Chavan, Sarang Patil, Sunil Mane, and Nitin Patil were also under discussion. But Srinivas Patil and Prithviraj Chavan were the leading candidates in the list of competent and strong candidates. However, NCP President Sharad Pawar was insistent on the name of Prithviraj Chavan as a candidate for consensus and benefit to the Congress NCP ally.

Earlier Sonia Gandhi was also favourable to Chavan’s candidature for Satara by-polls. But the NCP leaders sealed the name of Shrinivas Patil. So now Shrinivas Patil will be fighting against Udayanraje Bhosale. Satara district is the NCP’s Bastion. Shrinivas Patil will file his nomination on Thursday. Sharad Pawar himself will be present for that moment to support the candidate.

The Satara Lok Sabha by-poll will be held along with the Maharashtra state Assembly elections on October 21 and the result will be declared on 24 October.

Udayanraje Bhosale is a resident of Satara and plays the Shivaji Maharaj card to much effect, the NCP and Congress also have a strong base in the constituency.

Sharad Pawar said, тАЬNCP has defeated Udyanraje in the past so it will not be difficult to defeat him again in the Lok Sabha election,тАЭ.
