Reason behind the No-confidence motion is lack of fairness, priority towards Andhra Pradesh: TDP

New Delhi | Telegu Desam Party (TDP) MP Jayadev Galla while speaking at the No-confidence motion in Lok Sabha said that the BJP and TDP are not at war.

Jayadev Galla clarified that “The reason behind the No-confidence motion is lack of fairness, trust, priority, and presence of bias towards Andhra Pradesh by the BJP”. “BJP violated rights of the coastal state making up the federal republic of India,” he added.

The TDP MP alleged that “Andhra Pradesh’s division was unscientific and inequitable. The Bill was passed undemocratically. Doors were closed, cameras were turned off”. Galla while addressing the problem of Andhra Pradesh said, Andhra Pradesh is the new state, we need to build new capital, industrial and educational base.”Andra Pradesh has 1.3 Lakh crore loan burden, 23,000 crores undivided loan burden on Andhra Pradesh,” he added.

Galla also spoke about the discrimination between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, “The tax liability at 58 percent for Andhra Pradesh and 42 percent for Telangana. But we have no revenue generation sources.”

TDP criticised both the Congress and BJP for the current situation of Andhra Pradesh. Taking a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TDP said,” We believed Modi when he campaigned in Andhra Pradesh. But PM in the press conference of 7 March PM reneged on the promise of Special Category Status – union cabinet had made decision to give Special Status in 2014, PM should have no choice on honouring past commitments”.
