ED Summons Sanjay Raut In Land Scam Case Amid Ongoing Political Crisis

Sanjay Raut

ED has summoned Sanjay Raut in the Pravin Raut and land scam case amid the Maharashtra political crisis.

Mumbai: Sanjay Raut spokesperson of Shiv Sena has been called to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Mumbai tomorrow for questioning in connection with an alleged money laundering case. Raut is one of the most vocal supporters of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray during a rebellion within the party.

According to Team Thackeray, “pressure from ED, CBI, and other central agencies” is what caused the mutiny headed by Eknath Shinde.

Following the summons Sanjay Raut took to twitter and said “I just came to know that the ED has summoned me. Good ! There are big political developments in Maharashtra. We, Balasaheb’s Shivsainiks are fighting a big battle. This is a conspiracy to stop me. Even if you behead me, I won’t take the Guwahati route. Arrest me ! Jai Hind!”

In connection with the 1,034 crore Patra Chawl land scam case, the ED had attached Sanjay Raut’s properties in April. Then, Mr. Raut had stated, “I won’t be the one to experience fear. Sanjay Raut is a Shiv Sainik and a devotee of Balasaheb Thackeray. He has said, “Seize my property, shoot me, or send me to jail.””

A Rajya Sabha member named Mr. Raut claimed last week that the ED operated by the federal government had being abused against the Sena. He told reporters last Thursday, “Even we are under ED pressure, but we would continue to support Uddhav Thackeray.

“A true Balasaheb bhakt is not one who leaves the party in response to ED pressure. We are sincere devotees of Balasaheb “Mr. Raut went on to say that he swore allegiance to Bal Thackeray, the party’s founder and father of Uddhav Thackeray. Bal Thackeray has also been cited by rebel Eknath Shinde as his inspiration.
