Chandrababu Naidu said despite his several visits to New Delhi, the Union Budget did not make any special allocation for the state
The disgruntled ally of Bharatiya Janata Party, Telugu Desam Party has time and again made its angst against the party public. In the latest attack on the ruling BJP, TDP Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the state is being punished without any fault.
Naidu was speaking at a public meeting in Guntur district where he was invited to lay the foundation stone of JNTU college building.
He further stressed that his government will continue to pressurise the Central government until the state gets justice. Chandrababu Naidu promised to secure the “rights of Telugu people”.
Expressing his party’s displeasure at the Union Budget 2018, he said, “The Centre has to necessarily fulfill all the promises made in the Reorganisation Act. I am ready for a debate on what the Centre has done, so far, for the state.” Demanding a resolution on the issue Naidu said that despite his 29 visits to New Delhi, the Union Budget spelled no special allocation for the state.
” The issue is of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh, ” asserted Naidu. Adding that his party MPs will continue to pursue this issue with the Centre, Chandrababu Naidu said that his government is ready for a debate on centre’s fund allocation to the state.”We are ready for any sacrifice to secure the interest of Telugu people,” said Naidu hinting at the breakaway from the NDA.
He also accused the opposition of latching on the opportunity to gain political mileage. Recently, the TDP MPs also staged a protest outside the parliament for Centre’s alleged negligence towards the state. After Shivsena the TDp was expected to leave NDA as the members of the party were upset with the centre’s treatment towards Andhra Pradesh.
