“Chowkidaar hi Chor” crime thriller going on in Delhi: Rahul Gandhi

Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that “Chowkidaar hi Chor hai” crime thriller is underway in the national capital.

New Delhi| Commenting on the ongoing CBI crisis, Congress President Rahul Gandhi attacked PM Modi and said that a crime thriller is underway in Delhi. He was referring to the recent twist in the CBI crisis.

The CBI vs CBI infighting has led to more skeletons coming out of the closet. On Monday, CBI DIG Manish Kumar Sinha who was transferred to Nagpur filed a plea against the government order. Sinha, in his petition, accused NSA Ajit Doval of interfering in his investigation saying that Doval interfered in the probe against CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana. He also levelled serious charges against the PMO, and corruption charges against the Minister of State for Coal and Mines Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary and Law Secretary Suresh Chandra.

Referring to the development, Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that “Chowkidaar hi Chor hai” crime thriller is underway in the national capital. Taking a jibe at the crumbling credibility of the institution, he said that in this new episode there are serious allegations against a minister, NSA, Law Secretary and Cabinet Secretary by the DIG of CBI.

He further hinted at PM Modi’s Gujarat Model. He said, “His partner, who has been brought from Gujarat, is raising crores of money.”

Calling it an attack on democracy, Gandhi said, “The officers are tired, trust has been broken and Democracy is crumbling.”

Currently, the Supreme Court is hearing the CBI Director Alok Verma’s plea challenging the government decision to divest him of his duties from October 23.
