Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, G Parameshwara, on Sunday reacted to Chief Minister’s HD Kumaraswamy’s emotional outburst at a party event. Parameshwara noted that Kumaraswamy must be “definitely happy” and that “if he is happy, we all will be happy”.
Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy told his party workers during a celebratory ceremony in Bengaluru’s Seshadripuram on Saturday, 14 July, that he was “not happy being the chief minister”. He said, “I have swallowed poison like Lord Vishakantha. You all are happy that I became the CM. But I’m not.”
Reacting to this, Parameshwara stated that a Chief Minister “has to be always happy”. “How can he say that? He must be definitely happy, CM has to be always happy, if he’s happy we’ll all be happy,” a news agency quoted G Parameshwara as saying.
Kumaraswamy was speaking at the party programme organized to felicitate him for waiving off farm loans. “It is true that I wished to become the Chief Minister of this state before the elections and promised people so many things. The people are now happy but I’m not happy being the CM,” Kumaraswamy said.
