Congress calls ‘Chalo Rashtrapati Bhavan’ Protest: Rahul Gandhi And Several MPs Detained

CONGRESS PROTEST DETAINED BY POLICE
Congress is staging a massive nationwide protest on issues of inflation and price rise, many MPs detained.

Mumbai: Several Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi were arrested by the Delhi police on Friday, August 5 as they marched to Rashtrapati Bhavan for the massive protest against unemployment, inflation, and rising prices that they organized.

Meanwhile, several party officials including Harish Rawat, P. Chidambaram, Shashi Tharoor, and Deependra Hooda were arrested amid protests as Section 144 was imposed in New Delhi

The Congress leader had earlier addressed the media in the press conference that he called, Gandhi said, “there is an onset of dictatorship in India and the RSS is now controlling all independent institutions and agencies”.



Congress Tweet of  MPs being dragged: 
Congress released video of MP Jothimani detained in Delhi. They said in a tweet: “MP @jothims ji was roughed up and dragged away by police. Our fight is for the Indian people. Drag us, attack us, arrest us. Do everything in your power to drag us down, we’re only getting stronger.”

“The government is destroying the future of the youth of the country. We want to protest peacefully but you can see how MPs are being detained” , said one of the Congress MP Deependra Hooda.
