The Goa Congress, today with its 14 legislators has staked claim to form the government in the state, amid the waves of concerns seem to be flowing over the health of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
They have submitted a letter to the Raj Bhavan. However, a meeting between Congress and the Governor has so far not happened as such has been reported by a news agency.
This move of Congress comes after a central team of BJP today conducted a meeting with the former lawmakers of the party as a little head-start was made over an alternative leadership in Parrikar’s absence.
After the meeting, Ram Lal, senior BJP leader stated that the government of Goa is stable and no demand so far has been made for a change in leadership.
