The Rajya Sabha on the first day of the monsoon session yesterday, witnessed strong protests by the opposition parties demanding discussions on the Agnipath military recruitment scheme.
New Delhi: The Congress party is likely to hold a protest on Tuesday within the parliament premises on the GST rise and Agnipath military recruitment scheme.
The protest will take place near the Mahatma Gandhi statue. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is expected to join the protest.
“We will fight it tomorrow, will protest at the Gandhi statue and also inside as well as outside the house. We have appealed to all parties to fight against price rise, GST hike ” said Rajya Sabha leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge.

Mr. Kharge and other leaders from the opposition had given notices to discuss the Agnipath recruitment schemeĀ GST hike and other issues but the notice for suspension of business was not accepted.
Binoy Vishwam of the Communist Party of India also criticized the central government over the surge in GST rates and said the party will fight it referring to the hike as “absolutely anti-people”.
“GST hike is absolutely anti-people, we will fight it,” he said.
In the Lok Sabha as well the issue of the price hike was raised and the house was adjourned till 2 pm and eventually for the whole day.
