Convoy of BJP West Bengal Chief Dilip Ghosh Attacked, Four Workers Injured

BJP MP from West Bengal Arjun Singh alleged that stones were hurled from an office of Trinamool Congress and they used indigenous bombs in the attack.

 

Kolkata| The convoy of state BJP president Dilip Ghosh was attacked on Saturday in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, following which a clash broke out between the saffron party and the ruling Trinamool Congress workers. While the BJP accused the Trinamool Congress of attacking the rally in Minakha, the ruling party in the state denied the allegation and said that the saffron party workers vandalized the Trinamool office in the area.

Police said that two vehicles running behind the BJP’s Parivartan rally in Minakha were damaged due to stone pelting. The BJP claimed that four party workers were also injured in the bombing. The police, however, said that no bombs were hurled in the attack nor any casualties were reported.

It said that the workers of the two parties clashed after the attack on the vehicles. The BJP leader tweeted that Trinamool Congress goons attacked the Parivartan Yatra in Malancha of Basirhat under Minakha Thana. Four workers of the party are in critical condition due to throwing of indigenous bombs.

At the same time, the Trinamool Congress alleged that its office located in the area was damaged by BJP workers. It is noteworthy that in December last year, the convoy of BJP National President JP Nadda was attacked in South 24 Parganas district.

Recently, a TMC leader’s convoy was also attacked with bombs.
