Days after Maharashtra election loss, Pankaja Munde hints at “Big Announcement”

Pankaja Munde wrote in Marathi on Facebook, “Given the current political scenario of the state, the time has come to think and chart the way forward.”

Mumbai| The Facebook post by BJP leader Pankaja Munde, daughter of former Maharashtra minister and late BJP leader Gopinath Munde, created a stir in the state’s politics on Sunday. Her post, which comes days after Maharashtra slipped from BJP’s hands, has led to widespread speculations about her quitting the party.

Pankaja Munde in her Facebook post said that she will make an announcement regarding her future plans at Gopinathgarh on December 12. She also appealed her supporters to reach Gopinathgarh on December 12 for the “Big Announcement”. December 12 is the Birth Anniversary of Late. Gopinath Munde

Gopinathgarh is a memorial of her father which is situated in Beed district.

The BJP leader said that she will devise a strategy on the future course of action within the next 8-10 days

Pankaja Munde wrote in Marathi on Facebook, “Given the current political scenario of the state, the time has come to think and chart the way forward. I want 8-10 days to introspect. We must decide on the future journey.”

“What to do next? What path to take? What can we give to people? What is power? What are people’s expectations? I will reflect on all these aspects and will come before you on 12 December,” she wrote.

Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Shirish Boralkar said, “Pankaja Munde will continue her work to strengthen the BJP. I have read his Facebook post. Nowhere does it appear that he is unhappy with the BJP. She is the daughter of Gopinath Munde, who has made a major contribution in strengthening the BJP in the state.”

It is noteworthy that in the recent assembly elections, BJP leader Pankaja lost to her cousin and NCP candidate Dhananjay Munde by 30,000 votes in Parli seat of Beed district.
