“I disagree with the govt on many issues, but Kashmir is internal matter”, says Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi | Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has issued a clarification to clear the air on Congress’s stand on Kashmir. He has said that although he disagrees with the government on a number of matters, but it is a clear fact that Kashmir is an internal matter, with no scope for any interference from Pakistan or any other nation.

He also hit out at Pakistan, for “instigating” violence and supporting terrorism.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “I disagree with this Govt. on many issues. But, let me make this absolutely clear: Kashmir is India’s internal issue & there is no room for Pakistan or any other foreign country to interfere in it”.

“There is violence in Jammu & Kashmir. There is violence because it is instigated and supported by Pakistan which is known to be the prime supporter of terrorism across the world”, he added.

The tweet marks a significant message after the Congress leader’s criticism of the government’s handling of Jammu and Kashmir after he was stopped from visiting Srinagar and turned away from the airport on Saturday.

While Pakistan has approached international organisations for intervention in Kashmir, India has time and again maintained that it is an internal issue of India.
