Evidence missing, claims victim’s father in Swami Chinmayanand case

The UP police, who had not filed his missing report, recorded the family’s complaint three days after the woman went missing

Shahjahanpur– The Chinmayanand case has taken yet another turn with the law student’s father now claiming that evidence has gone missing from the girl’s hostel room.

“My daughter had safely kept the evidence has gone missing from the girl’s hostel room which was later sealed on court orders. When the Special Investigation Team (SIT) opened the seal on 9 September, some of the evidence was missing from the room”, he claimed on Thursday.

The girl had earlier claimed that she kept evidence of the case in safe places.

She claimed that the Shahjahanpur police were not registering the rape case and Swami Chinnmayanand raped me even exploited me physically for one year.

The alleged victim also approached the Delhi police with a complaint accusing the BJP leader of raping her.

A senior Delhi Police official said received a complaint at a police station in the south district which has been forwarded to the special investigation team of the UP police.

On Sunday, the SIT quizzed me for about 11 hours I have told them about the rape. Even after telling them everything they have not arrested Chinmayanand yet, said the victim.

She alleged that when her father gave a complaint to the police here about her physical exploitation, Shahjahanpur District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh “Issued threat”, asking her father to file missing complaints instead.

Earlier, the SIT team visited the residence of the BJP leader, his ashram and to the college run by him where the victim studied.

The team then visited Mukukshu Ashram of the BJP leader and toured the five colleges run by the Ashram.
