“Fake letter with forged signature”, Kumaraswamy clarifies about viral resignation letter

A letter went viral on social media. The letter written in the name of Kumaraswamy, mentioned the Karnataka CM resigning due to his personal reasons.

 

Bengaluru| Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy today clarified speculations aroun his resignation. He said that the resignation letter doing rounds is “fake” and his signature has been forged.

A letter went viral on social media. The letter written in the name of Kumaraswamy, mentioned the Karnataka CM resigning due to his personal reasons. A similar letter was also spotted on Kumaraswamy’s desk in assembly. The cameras covering Karnataka Assembly proceedings captured it and it sparked the speculations of him resigning. However, he clarified later on tht the letter is fake and his signature has been forged.

The Karnataka assembly proceedings resumed on Monday again and so did the political drama. Speaker KR Ramesh said that the floor test should be completed today. However, CM Kumaraswamy sought two more days as the backchannels are still trying to convince the rebel MLAs.

Meanwhile, BS Yeddyurappa- BJP state president has insisted that the trust vote should be conducted today itself. He also said that the BJP MLAs are ready to wait till 12 AM.
