Finally Maharashtra Govt portfolios out: Here’s is the complete list of who received which Ministry

According to the sources, the portfolio distribution is temporary keeping in mind the six-day Maharashtra assembly session that begins from December 16

Mumbai: The Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition finally announced the portfolio allocation in Maharashtra government on Thursday.

The ShivSena has kept the home ministry, which was a key demand from Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party. However, deputy chief minister post yet to announce, contrary to the expectations.

All major ministries have been divided between the six ministers – two ministers from Sena, NCP, and Congress – that were sworn in on November 28 along with Uddhav Thackeray and the Cabinet has not been expanded yet. According to the sources, the portfolio distribution is temporary keeping in mind the six-day Maharashtra assembly session that begins from December 16.

The CM’s office has said that Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has been given the charge of Home, Urban Development, Forest, Environment, Water Supply, Water Conservation, Tourism, Public Undertakings, Parliamentary Affairs departments.

Another ShivSena minister, Subhash Desai, has been allocated Industries, Higher and Technical Education, Sports, and Youth Welfare, Horticulture, Transport, Marathi Language and Cultural Affairs, Ports.

NCP minister Jayant Patil has been given charge of Finance and Planning, Housing, Public Health, Co-operation, Food & Civil Supplies, Labour and Minority Welfare.

Chhagan Bhujbal, another NCP minister, has been given charge of Irrigation, Rural Development, Social Justice, Excise, Skil Development, Food, and Drug Administration.

Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat has been given charge of Revenue, Energy, Medical Education, School Education, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Fisheries.

Another Congress minister Nitin Raut has been given charge PWD, Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare, Textile, Relief and Rehabilitation, OBC, VJNT, Special Backward Class Welfare. CM Uddhav Thackeray will keep the departments that are not allocated to any minister, the statement said.

The Cabinet expansion is likely to happen after the winter session of the state legislature ends on December 21.
