Former Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Appointed Leader Of Opposition In Maharashtra Assembly

 The Eknath Shinde government easily reached the majority mark on Monday, winning the trust vote. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction filed.

Mumbai: NCP leader and former deputy CM  Ajit Pawar was on Monday named the Leader of the opposition in the state assembly.

The newly appointed Speaker Rahul Narvekar announced that Pawar will take over as Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.

NCP has emerged as the single largest opposition party in the 288-member House, Narvekar added.

Earlier in the day,  the Eknath Shinde government easily reached the majority mark on Monday, winning the trust vote. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction filed a new petition in the Supreme Court on Monday.

Devendra Fadnavis, while addressing the house after the floor test, said he will always support and back Shinde. He added that Shinde’s tenure as the Maharashtra Chief Minister will be successful.

Fadnavis said, “When the Maha Aghadi Vikas (MVA) was first formed, I said it was unnatural. People had insulted me then. But I am back now and I have Shinde with me.” He said he will take revenge on those who insulted him, adding that his revenge was to forgive them.

‘There will be no power struggle and I will only work to make Shinde’s tenure more successful.

The Maharashtra ex-CM further praised the chief minister and mentioned the various projects that were taken up by Shinde. He said, “Eknath Shinde works for the common man.”

Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Sunday addressed the Muslim community and asked them to avoid sacrificing cows during the upcoming Eid al-Adha festival, which will be celebrated on July 10.

Badruddin Ajmal, who is the Lok Sabha MP from Assam’s Dhubri constituency as well as the state president of Jamiat Ulama, said that the Hindus revere cows as a mother and so one should refrain from harming them.

While interacting with media persons in Assam’s Cachar district, Badruddin Ajmal said, “The Hindus consider cows as a mother, the Sanatan faith worships it as a holy symbol.

He further said, Even Islam says not to harm any animal.”

“I appeal to the Muslims not to kill cows during Eid, we strongly oppose this practice. I would request the Muslim community to offer the sacrifice of other animals and Allah will accept it. Darul Uloom Deoband, India’s largest Islamic seminary, has also appealed to the public to avoid the sacrifice of cows on Eid two years ago, and I am repeating the same: please don’t sacrifice cows” Ajmal said.
