Former FM Arun Jaitley admitted to AIIMS Delhi; President to reach hospital

New Delhi | Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been admitted to AIIMS Delhi due to critical condition, one week after he was admitted and was declared ‘stable’.

President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Jaitley at around 11 am, according to multiple reports.

Jaitley was admitted in the hospital on August 9 morning was put on ventilator late in the night. However, he was later declared ‘ haemodynamically stable’, in a press release by the institution.

The 66-year-old former Finance Minister has been in a delicate position for his health for quite a while now. The matter came to light when he refused a position in the Modi 2.0 government, which was formed after NDA’s massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

In February, Piyush Goyal had to present the interim budget as Jaitley was in the US for treatment.
