Bainsla led the agitation demanding reservation in government jobs and education for the Gurjar community in Rajasthan. In 2007, Kirori Singh Bainsla led Gurjar Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti staged a protest in Rajasthan in which 27 agitators were killed in clash with police.
Just a few days ago Rashtriya Loktantrik Party led by Jat leader Hanuman Beniwal also joined the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Meanwhile, Bainsla’s inclusion in the BJP is protested by senior Rajasthan BJP leader along with former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
With an aim to overcome its 2018 assembly election defeat and repeat its 2014 success in the Lok Sabha election in Rajasthan where it won all the 25 parliamentary constituencies in the state, the party is trying hard to include representation of all the communities. Hanuman Beniwal and Kirori Singh Bainsla joining BJP are apart of the process.
