Huge supplementary demands show poor financial planning: NCP

Nagpur | Opposition NCP today criticised the BJP-led Maharashtra government for making supplementary demands of Rs 11,445 crore in the ongoing monsoon session, saying it shows poor condition of the state’s finances.

Talking to reporters, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde said the state’s financial situation was precarious. “There is no financial planning. We will question the government over the supplementary demands,” the NCP leader said.

Munde also dismissed the Centre’s decision to increase the MSP for all crops, calling it an election gimmick. NCP MLC Sunil Tatkare said he had doubts about the implementation of the announcement.

“When our (Congress-NCP) government tabled supplementary demands for just Rs 1,500 crore, the opposition would attack us. But now they have tabled demands which are 50percentt of the budget,” he said.
