HW News impact: Priyanka Gandhi reaches Sonbhadra to meet victims

Sonbhadra | Congress General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has visited Ubhbha village to meet the families of victims of Sonbhadra massacre.

HW News had investigated and had come up with an exclusive report about the aftermath of the Sonbhadra massacre, which saw the death of 10 people in an internal clash of land ownership. Since the news created furore, people condemned it, officials were transferred, a lot of political drama happened and everyone moved on.

We had reported that despite the massacre being done and dusted, the kids of the Umbha village were afraid to visit Murtiya village where the school is located.

In Ubhbha there is no school, there is no police station, but available in Murtiya. So, children from Ubhbha have to go Murtiya for schooling.

The village head who led the shootout in the massacre hails from Murtiya.

The villagers claim that the people of Murtiya are threatening these innocent children that if they step in their village, they will cut them and throw into a nearby river. They threatened them of the same consequences which had happened to those 10 people.
When we talked to one of the school kids, she told us that her parents fear that if she goes to school, she might not return alive.
