India Reports Six Coronavirus Deaths As Two Patients Die In Mumbai And Bihar

2 men died of the coronavirus in Patna and Mumbai, as India undertook a 14-hour long curfew on Sunday to limit the fast-spreading epidemic in the country.

New Delhi| Two coronavirus deaths were reported from Maharashtra’s Mumbai and Bihar today, which takes the total number of deaths linked to COVID-19 in India to six.

ANI reported that a 38-year-old man died of kidney failure at the state-run AIIMS in Patna after testing positive for the coronavirus. Dr Prabhat Kumar Singh told the news agency the man belonged to Munger in Bihar and had returned home from Kolkata two days ago.

This is the first case of highly contagious COVID-19 reported from the state. He is probably the youngest person in the country to die due after contracting the infection.

In Maharashtra, the state that has reported maximum coronavirus cases across India (74), a 63-year-old man admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai died this morning. “The patient had a chronic history of diabetes, high blood pressure and ischemic heart disease,” Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation, said in a statement. He developed acute respiratory distress syndrome leading to his death.

Ten more positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Maharashtra, according to the state government. Of these, six are in Mumbai and four are in Pune.

The two deaths will increase India’s toll to 6 when the central government’s health ministry updates its tracker. As many as 370 have been diagnosed with the disease as of this morning, said the health ministry.
