‘Inform About Illegal Migrants, Take RS. 5000 Home’, New MNS Banners Read

MNS has been in the news since it’s chief Raj Thackeray partially supported the centre’s CAA and its workers went on a drive to find Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in slums of Mumbai.

Mumbai| Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has been in news recently for its anti-illegal migrants stand. It’s supremo Raj Thackeray launched a new saffron flag for his party extending support to the centre’s CAA on the same day. He had asked the central government to implement these laws strictly.

What followed after that was a controversial drive by the MNS workers in Mumbai slums asking the residents to show their documents of citizenship. MNS workers suggested that they had found out many Bangladeshis living in these ghettos which they handed to the police. Whereas police have also served the notice to MNS workers inquiring about the antiques of asking the residents to prove their citizenship.

Now MNS is expecting more public participation in their drive against illegal migrants. MNS has put out posters in Bandra as well as in Aurangabad. The posters suggest that whoever informs about the Pakistani and Bangladeshi migrants will be offered Rs. 5000.

The MNS in recent times has univocally supported the centre’s CAA asking to kick out the illegal migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh. They had also put out banners and posters asking the Bangladeshi migrants to leave or they’ll be driven out of the country.

The MNS’s campaign is run in the backdrop of the anti-CAA protests that have erupted in India. Earlier MNS did stick to the image of a regional party. It’s chief Raj Thackeray himself campaigned against the ruling BJP in general elections as well as assembly elections. Now he has changed the whole strategy after the unprecedented coalition of INC, NCP and ShivSena took place in Maharashtra leaving very little political space for the MNS.
