CEA chief expressed satisfaction with the party’s presidential polls process he said that it was a “free, fair, and transparent” one
New Delhi: Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor’s election manager, Salman Soz, has complained about many irregularities in Congress Presidential Polls. He said that they have communicated about all the irregularities with Congress Central Election Authority Chief, Madhusudan Mistry.
“We’ve been in constant communication with Madhusudan Mistry’s office, informed them about many different issues, cannot get into its specifics right now,” Salman Soz said.
On the other hand, while speaking with the media Madhusudan Mistry expressed satisfaction with the party’s presidential polls process. He said that it was a “free, fair, and transparent” one.
Salman Soz in his letter has quoted various instances of violations in the polling process in Congress headquarters in different States. One complaint is about the Lucknow centre for Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow centre has the largest number of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) delegates or voters delegates.
One complaint states that State unofficial persons were present at polling booths, despite, clear instructions from CEA chief Madhusudan Mistry not to do so and vote in their home States.

He also stated in the letter that the ballot boxes were not sealed properly. He wrote, “On voting day, when the ballot boxes were prepared for voting, our agents raised concerns with PROS/APROs about the lack of a proper sealing mechanism for ballot boxes. At that point they were told that the seal would be applied later. At no point did any PRO, APRO, or DPRO indicate to polling agents that there was a problem related to the official seals mentioned with serial numbers and provided by the Central Election Authority all states.”
Speaking of voting malpractice he said that votes of leaders not present on the spot were cast. He wrote, “We suspect voter fraud in this election. There were delegates who were not present in the Lucknow area on the day of voting and their votes were cast.”
