INX Media case: P Chidambaram goes incommunicado as CBI, ED team visit his home

Justice Sunil Gaur in his harsh judgement said that the facts reveal that Chidambaram is not only a key conspirator but also a kingpin of the scam.

 

New Delhi| Senior Congress leader and Former Finance minister has received a huge blow from the Delhi high court in the INX media case. Hours after the court denued him anticipatory bail, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation visited his house at Jorbagh in New Delhi. However, P Chidambaram wasn’t at home.

 

After Delhi high court denied to give P Chidambaram protection from arrest. He had sought a stay on the arrest for three days. However, the Delhi High court judge said that he being a member of parliament or a lawyer will not have any consideration in the case. Justice Sunil Gaur in his harsh judgement said that the facts reveal that Chidambaram is not only a key conspirator but also a kingpin of the scam.

 

The CBI team reached his residence at around 6.30 PM. As the leader was not present, the team left the location after 10 minutes. An hour after that, a team of Enforcement Directorate too arrived at the location at 7.30 PM. Now, both the teams are present at his house, but P Chidambaram is untraceable. His lawyer and senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that Chidambaram was with him and both were discussing the case at around 6.30 in the evening. He said that the two were together for around two hours.

 

Meanwhile, he has now moved to Supreme Court where he will mention his appeal at 10.30 AM in the morning.
