“Irreparable loss to Indian politics”: Amit Shah condoles the death of Sushma Swaraj

Recalling her days as a cabinet and party colleague, BJP President said that Sushma Swaraj has left an indelible mark in Indian politics.

 

New Delhi| Home Minister Amit Shah condoling the demise of Sushma Swaraj said that it is an irreparable loss to the Indian politics. He expressed his condolences to her family, supporters and well-wishers.

He tweeted, “The death of Sushma Swaraj ji is an irreparable loss to BJP and Indian politics. On behalf of all BJP workers, I express my deepest condolences to his family, supporters and well-wishers. God bless the departed soul forever.”

Recalling her days as a cabinet and party colleague, BJP President said that Sushma Swaraj has left an indelible mark in Indian politics. He said that she was not only an ardent speaker, an ideal activist but also popular public representative and a hard-working minister. He said, “I am deeply saddened by the sudden demise of former External Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader and Member of Parliamentary Board, Mrs Sushma Swaraj. She has left an indelible mark in Indian politics in various forms such as an ardent speaker, an ideal activist, popular public representative and a working minister.

Sushma Swaraj, 67, passed away on Tuesday due to a heart attack. The former External Affairs Minister’s health was critical following which she was admitted to AIIMS. A team of 5 doctors was monitoring her who later declared her dead. Her last rites will be performed around 3 PM in Delhi, with state honours.

The body will be kept at the party headquarters from 12 pm-3 pm for people to pay their respects on Wednesday after which it will be taken to the Lodhi Crematorium for the last rites, JP Nadda told reporters at the hospital.

A host of Union ministers and other senior party leaders visited AIIMS and met the bereaved family of the former external affairs minister.
