Karnataka BJP Leader Hacked To Death, CM Bommai Promises Swift Action

Bengaluru| In a shocking incident, a BJP youth leader from Karnataka was hacked to death with an axe on Tuesday. Praveen Nettaru, the district secretary of the BJP Yuva Morcha was killed in the Dakshina Kannada district.

The murder sparked outrage in the coastal district which has faced communal tensions in the past. After the murder, BJP workers demonstrated which continued till late at night. The police haven’t made any arrests in the case yet. The reason for the murder has also not been revealed. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday assured that the killers would be arrested soon. He said that the killing of our party worker is condemnable.

“The barbaric killing of our party activist Praveen Nettaru from Dakshina Kannada district is condemnable. The perpetrators of such a heinous act will be arrested soon and punished under the law. May Praveen’s soul rest in peace. May God bless his family with the strength to bear this pain. Om Shanti,” tweeted Bommai today.

Praveen was a poultry trader, murdered at his shop

According to the police, Praveen has a poultry shop in the Bellare area of ​​Dakshina Kannada. On Tuesday, when Praveen was returning home after closing the shop, some people on a bike came and blocked his way. They attacked Praveen with an axe. He was seriously injured and died on his way to the hospital.

Second Incident of Killing In Karnataka

This is not the first such incident. Another BJP leader Mohammad Anwar was stabbed to death in Karnataka on June 23. The killers were on their bike. Mohammad Anwar was the General Secretary of the BJP.
