Saif Ali Khan Attack: Security Guards Were Asleep During The Attack

Shocking revelations are coming to light every day since the investigation began. The puzzled and confusing story of Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan’s attack now seems to have come into the picture.

The attacker, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir (30), is currently in police custody and was taken to the actor’s residence to recreate the incident. According to cops, the Guards in the building were fast asleep when the accused entered.

During the probe, the accused disclosed that two security guards were stationed at the building. He further said that both security guards were sleeping when he entered the premises by crossing over the boundary wall on 16 January.

Police discovered crucial evidence, including a cap found in Khan’s son’s room, with hair strands that are now being tested for DNA analysis. The police also discovered the fingerprints of the suspect on several objects at the crime scene, including the bathroom window, pipes, and a ladder. These prints are now being compared with Shariful’s fingerprints to confirm his involvement.

Mumbai police revealed the details on Tuesday when they recreated the crime scene at the Satguru Sharan building, where Khan (54) lives with his wife, actor Kareena Kapoor, and their two children, Taimur and Jeh.

According to the cops, “The attacker found both the security guards in deep slumber. He then entered the building from the main entrance, where no CCTV camera had been installed. The accused removed his shoes and kept them in his bag to avoid making any noise, and he also smartly switched off his mobile phone.”

What’s even more shocking is that “during the probe, the police discovered that no CCTV cameras were installed in the building’s corridor.” The Satguru Sharan Building is located in the posh Bandra West area.

According to property index-2 documents accessed by IndexTap.com, the actor purchased the apartment in April 2012 for ₹23.50 crore from Satguru Builders, a real estate developer. The current value of the apartment where the attack took place is over ₹40 crore.

The irony is that this building did not have CCTV cameras installed in the corridors. These revelations have exposed significant lapses in the building’s security measures, where multiple TV stars reside.

According to reports, the guards stationed at the building were provided by a housekeeping company, not a licensed security agency, as per top officials of the Maharashtra chapter of the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI).

As reported by TOI, the housekeeping firm failed to conduct background checks on the guards. The firm does not possess an operational license mandated by the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act (PSARA). The guards lack adequate training and equipment to handle emergencies. The building does not maintain a visitors’ log book, leaving access points unmonitored.

The building’s security setup came under tight scrutiny after it was revealed that Khan’s alleged attacker, Shariful Fakir, gained easy access to his quadruplex.
