Maharashtra Congress State Secretary Mohan Joshi Seeks The Release of Seized PPE Kits

Since corona is a contagious disease, doctors also need this material while treating patients. Therefore PPE kits should be opened for use

 

MUMBAI| On Tuesday, Maharashtra Congress State Secretary and Former MLA Mohan Joshi file petition in Bombay High Court seeking the release of PPE kits seized by various government departments for use. On this, the Bombay High Court questioned the state government and asked to provide information.

Following the current situation in Maharashtra due to COVID-19, the constant increase in numbers Congress secretary demands the use of seized material. On Monday, the petition was heard in the Bombay High Court by Judge BP Colabawala through video conferencing. On behalf of Mohan Joshi, Adv. Harsh Parte is overseeing the court proceedings. The central government has also admitted that most of the corona outbreaks occurred in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, the state government’s public health department and other departments had earlier seized hand sanitizers, masks and other materials from various parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, to curb the black market. Confiscated materials such as PPE kits, masks, sanitizers are need to be used. Since corona is a contagious disease, doctors also need this material while treating patients. Therefore PPE kits should be opened for use.

However, there are currently no such guidelines for immediate medical use of PPE kits, masks, hand sanitizers seized by the police department. Joshi suggested in the public interest, the court should issue instructions in this regard and this material should be used by hospitals and doctors immediately.

Joshi also told the court that during the current Corona crisis, the state government should not have any problem in opening the literature.
