Maharashtra Crisis: Aaditya Thackeray’s Late Night With Media

Minister Aadithya Thackeray runs into the media amid Sena backlash in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Amid the Shiv Sena rebellion getting stronger by the day, Sena’s face of the youth and Minister Aaditya Thackeray stepped out of his residence at midnight.

The Thackeray family earlier this Wednesday shifted from the Chief Minister’s official residence ‘Varsha’, to their family home in south Mumbai, ‘Matoshree’, amid Eknath Shinde’s rebel camp shaking ground with a mutiny in the Shiv Sena.

The rebel leader who earlier today claimed 50 MLAs in his camp has set his mind to divide the party and claim leadership.

Aaditya Thackeray, who was rather calm reportedly held a hearty conversation and interacted amiably with the media personnel.

Sources said that Aaditya Thackeray was heard asking the media personnel if they had their meals, while security personnel requested journalists to turn off their recorders as the minister was not interested to make any public statements at the moment.

He replied on enquiries about Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray’s health that his father was doing fine and making gradual recovery.

This is the young leader’s very first public assembly since rebellion was reported in the Sena lead by Sena Sainik Eknath Shinde.

The Eknath Shinde camp earlier on Thursday asserted that Sena’s coalition with the Congress and NCP was an “unnatural” affair, and that networks must be restored with the BJP to assert power.

Reports on Wednesday hinted that Shinde has reached the magic number of 37, needed to divide the Sena out of the assembly without invoking the anti-defection law. Shinde presently has confirmed the support of 42 MLAs.
