NCP spokesman Nawab Malik said that after the meeting of Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar, the situation of government formation in Maharashtra will become clear.

New Delhi| NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Congress President Sonia Gandhi will meet in Delhi on Monday to decide on forming a government with ShivSena in Maharashtra. The meeting was scheduled for Sunday, but the meeting was postponed as the final draft of the Common Minimum Program was not ready. According to NCP sources, the nature of the state government and the sharing of ministries between the ShivSena and NCP-Congress will be discussed by the two leaders.

NCP spokesman Nawab Malik said that after the meeting of Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar, the situation of government formation in Maharashtra will become clear. NCP and Congress leaders in Maharashtra will also hold discussions on Tuesday. Earlier, NCP President Sharad Pawar reiterated in Nagpur that it will take a little more time to form the government.

According to sources, the meeting between Pawar and Sonia will seal the formation of a new government in the state. President’s rule was imposed in Maharashtra on 12th November on the government’s recommendation. After the results of the assembly elections, the alliance between the BJP and ShivSena was strained due to the rotational CM post demand of the Sena. New political equations have been created in the state since then. In a first, ShivSena is teaming up with Congress and NCP.

If sources are to be believed, a minimum common program between the three parties has been prepared. According to this, the Chief Minister’s post will remain with ShivSena, on which NCP and Congress have no objection. In lieu of this, it has been agreed to give NCP to the Home Ministry and Congress to the Revenue Ministry. Congress and NCP will also get deputy CM posts.
