MHA downgrades Akhilesh, Lalu Yadav’s security cover

New Delhi | The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today in its order revised security cover provided to various political leaders.

In an issued notification, the MHA removed the names of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Uttar Pradesh minister Suresh Rana and BJP MP Rajeev Pratap Rudy from the central list of leaders protected by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The CRPF security cover of LJP MP Chirag Paswan has also been withdrawn and his security is been downgraded to ‘Y’ category.

The ministry has also removed the name of BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra from the central list and will be provided CRPF ‘Z’ security in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma’s name is also been removed from the central list.

However, the biggest name in the entire list is Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Yadav Z+ security which was accorded during the UPA regime is now reduced by the Union government.

The decision was taken by the Home Ministry after a comprehensive review of the VIP protectees, provided security by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
