Ministers who couldn’t make it to Modi Sarkar 2.0

New Delhi | The whole nation saw the grand oath-taking ceremony of Modi government 2.0, after the massive victory of NDA in the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.

The swearing-in saw some Union Ministers being retained, and some did not.

Apart from former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who gave up his ministerial duties citing health reasons, others who missed out on the cabinet berth include Sushma Swaraj, Suresh Prabhu, Maneka Gandhi, JP Nadda, Radha Mohan Singh, Chaudhary Birender Singh, Manoj Sinha, KJ Alphons, Mahesh Sharma, Jual Oram and Uma Bharti.

While Sushma Swaraj was the external affairs minister, Suresh Prabhu held the commerce and industry portfolio as well as the civil aviation ministry. Suresh Prabhu was also the Railways Minister before Piyush Goyal.

Maneka Gandhi was the Union Minister for Women And Child Development.

Manoj Sinha, who lost from Ghazipur, had held the Ministry of Communications in the previous government.

KJ Alphons, Mahesh Sharma and Jual Oram were tourism, culture and tribal affairs ministers, respectively.

Ministers Of State also saw some new names and faces.

However, these ones have not been retained by the new government.

Ram Kripal Yadav (rural development), Hansraj Gangram Ahir (ministry of home affairs), Radhakrishna P (ministry of shipping, ministry of finance), Jayant Sinha (civil aviation), Anant Kumar Hegde (skill development and entrepreneurship), SS Ahluwalia (electronics and information technology) and Vijay Goel (parliamentary affairs).
