The “Misogynistic Modi” video listed incidents of PM Modi’s remarks on women. Congress also said that Misogyny runs deeper in BJP and RSS.
The controversy surrounding Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury’s hysteric laughter in Rajya Sabha during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech does not seem to die down. While Kiran Rijiju’s ‘Surpanakha’ video added fuel to the fire, the Mahila Congress asked for an apology from the PM Modi for his remarks. Renuka Chowdhury also filed a notice against Kiran Rijiju.
However, it seems Congress now preparing to surround the Modi government on the issue tagging PM Modi as a “Misogynistic”. Congress has recently released a video on twitter which is titled “Misogynistic Modi”. It also accused BJP of harbouring anti-women attitude.
The tweet read, “Misogyny runs deep within the BJP and PM Modi’s statements are a classic example of this deplorable mindset,” with the hashtag “#MisogynisticModi”.

The 1-minute video shows a number of instances where PM Modi and other BJP, RSS leaders have made remarks about women. In the first instance, the video shows Modi’s remark on Renuka Chowdhury. It also lists PM Modi’s remark on Late Sunanda Pushkar-wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. PM Modi is seen saying, “Have you ever seen a girlfriend of 50 crores?” Referring to a news publication, the video shows Modi’s remarks on former Congress president Sonia Gandhi calling her “Jersey Cow”.
The video says “Misogyny runs deep in BJP and RSS”. It also lists Mohan Bhagwat’s remark on marriage and Union Minister Arun Jaitley’s remarks on Delhi Gangrape among others. Concluding the video questions “How can women of India hope for equality under the leadership of misogynists?”
The remarks have not gone down well with BJP, which called Congress a “B-grade video production house”. BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said after Rahul Gandhi’s selection as party president, Congress has given up serious political commentary. Criticizing the new video strategy of Congress, he said, “Congress is functioning as a B-grade video production house with a flippant message. The party is now operating at the level of Rahul Gandhi’s IQ.”
Earlier too, Congress had produced a video on Yogi Adityanath titled “The Recipe for Disaster”.
