BJP is using surgical strike video to distract people: Mayawati

New Delhi | Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday said that released surgical strike video is BJP’s attempt to distract people.

“Releasing video of the surgical strike is nothing but an attempt by this (BJP) Government to distract people from their enormous failures before 2019. If they did it with intention of showing proof, then why did they not release the video when the strike was carried out?,” Mayawati told media.

Earlier the Congress party also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government of using the surgical strikes for political gains after a video of the same was released. The Congress leader Randeep Surjewala earlier while interacting with media attacked BJP for using army for political gain. “Every time Modi government fail in their promises, why do they use the sacrifice of our soldiers for their political gains?

“Modi government is exploiting the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ and trying to win votes through Surgical Strike. The nation wants to ask them did Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh boast of the success of Army operations during their tenure, just like them?” he said. He also added that the UPA government had also conducted surgical strikes during its tenure but never boasted about it. He said several strikes were launched in the last two decades.
