Narendra Modi treats judiciary in the same way he treats AAP government: Arvind Kejriwal says regarding KM Joseph’s elevation row

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday tweeted that PM Narendra Modi was “treating judiciary” in the same way he “treats” the AAP government, a day after the Centre turned down a Supreme Court collegium proposal to elevate Justice KM Joseph to SC.

Kejriwal has previously accused the Centre of “creating hurdles unsparingly” in the functioning of Delhi government. Earlier this year, Kejriwal had been less than pleased with the Union Budget and had alleged that the Modi government was “continuing” with its “step-motherly” treatment of Delhi.

Along with Justice Joseph, the collegium had proposed senior advocate Indu Malhotra’s name for elevation. Her name was accepted and she was administered the oath as a Supreme Court judge by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra on Friday whereas Justice Joseph was not which stirred quite a controversy.
