Nation is made by its people, not plots of land: Rahul Gandhi on Kashmir

New Delhi | Congress leader Rahul Gandhi breaks silence after the scrapping of Article 370 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and asserted that nation is made by its people, not plots of land.

He accused the BJP of “abusing executive power” and predicted that this will have grave implications for the security of the nation.

Taking to Twitter he wrote, “National integration isn’t furthered by unilaterally tearing apart J&K, imprisoning elected representatives and violating our Constitution. This nation is made by its people, not plots of land. This abuse of executive power has grave implications for our national security”.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah moved a resolution in Rajya Sabha to abolish Article 370 of the Constitution, which accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir, after the president issued a notification, and introduced a Bill to divide the state into two Union Territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
