Mumbai | Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, political parties have started to plan out their strategies. Though the ruling Shiv Sena-BJP is yet to announce their seat-sharing for the assembly elections, reports have started emerging that Shiv Sena might nominate Aaditya Thackeray as the Chief Minister candidate.
Sena which is currently in alliance government led by Devendra Fadnavis on various occasion has conveyed that the next Maharashtra Chief Minister should be from Shiv Sena. Earlier in its editorial mouthpiece, Samana, Shiv Sena had written that the chief ministerial candidate of the alliance for the state assembly election will be from Shiv Sena and not BJP.

Aditya who is yet to confirm whether he will contest the upcoming state election is currently on a ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ across the state. The route of the “Jan Ashirwad” rally covers those Lok Sabha seats that have been strongholds of the Sena besides the assembly segments that have been contested by the party.
The 28-year-old Thackeray scion is playing an active role in Sena’s preparations for the assembly polls to ensure the party, founded by his grandfather Bal Thackeray, wins the maximum number of seats. No member of the Thackeray family has ever fought an election in the 53-year-old history of the party.
If elected, Aaditya Thackeray will the first chief Minister from the Thackeray family who earlier during its 1995-1999 government appointed Manohar Joshi and Narayan Rane as Chief Minister.
