In yet another fiery statement, Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari today on Sunday stated that the citizens look up to the leaders who show them dreams but when those dreams are not made to come true people thrash those leaders as well.
He further added, “Therefore you must show only those dreams that you are capable of fulfilling them.” Following this statement with some self-praise, he said, “I don’t just show dreams. I do what I say”.
It was last year that the Union minister had made comments that were said to have invoked a good quantum of embarrassment to the ruling party. At an event, he stated that it is only appropriate if some people speak less in BJP. Politicians need to be quite prudent while addressing the media, he added.
Gadkari had also given a cue for BJP making certain false promises in the year 2014 “deliberately”. He said, “We were very confident that we would never come to power, so we were advised to make tall promises,” said Gadkari during the show. “Now that we are in power, the public reminds us of those promises made by us. However, these days, we just laugh and move on,” he had said, drawing sharp reaction from some leaders.
