Sanjay Raut, speaking to media today said that he hopes Nitin Gadkari will bring a written letter along with him offering CM post to ShivSena.
Mumbai: Maharashtra assembly presently is set to get dissolved at midnight. However, before that, the key players are expected to engage in negotiations.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari who was called in to intervene in the ongoing tussle between the decades-old alliance partners arrived in Mumbai on Friday morning. He will meet ShivSena chief Uddhav Thackeray today to broker a peace between the warring partners.
However, ShivSena has said that they are adamant on their demand of 50:50 formula for the post of Chief Minister. Party MP Sanjay Raut, speaking to media today said that he hopes Nitin Gadkari will bring a written letter along with him offering CM post to ShivSena.
Nitin Gadkari was called in after state leadership failed to convince ShivSena:
A day after ShivSena leader Kishor Tiwari wrote to RSS chief demanding his intervention, Sangh threw its weight behind Gadkari. Yesterday, Gadkari rejected the rumours that he was offered the CM post. He said that he doesn’t wish to return to the state politics and Devendra Fadnavis would lead the government in Maharashtra.
Don’t Need a middleman:
ShivSena MP Sanjay Raut once again hit out at the BJP today. Talking to reporters he said that nobody needs to play the middleman between BJP and ShivSena. His statement came in response to a visit by Shiv Pratishthan’s Sambhaji Bhide. Bhide had reportedly gone to Matoshree to visit Thackeray but apparently he couldn’t. Meanwhile, Raut also said that any attempts of imposing presidential rule in the state would be an injustice to the people.
